What's the best way to travel around in the city of Groningen and The Netherlands?

Trains:
If you are an international student and you are not able to get an OV card, you can buy a Dutch discount card, for a cost of 50 euros a year and receive 40% reduction on each train trip and take 3 extra people with you for the same price.

If you do not travel by train on a regular basis, you can always ask other students on the train if you can tavel together, using their discount card.
This means that when you buy your ticket, you click on “korting/discount” and receive a 40% discount.

You can find the train schedules at: http://ns.nl/cs/Satellite/travellers
