Groningen Info

As we always aim to meet the growing need of information for international students, we have created a new page named "Groningen Info". At the moment the page has a small FAQ-section and a map with useful locations in the city.

Happy Hour FM needs YOU to help out! If you have any relevant information (or questions you would like answered), we encourage you to contribute to the page! Anything goes, so send us an email or even easier; use the contact form on this website!

Public holidays

When the Dutch public take a holiday, they do it in style.

Show: 4th and 5th May

Two important days are coming up for The Netherlands:

On the 4th of May we remember all those who have fallen during and after WWII. On the 5th of May we celebrate our liberation and the freedom that we can still enjoy today.

We'll explain a bit more about these events in tonight's show, amongst others we'll be talking to Joey Ruchtie, who is the programmer for the big "Bevrijdingsfestival" (Liberation festival) that takes place in the Stadspark this Wednesday.

Furthermore we have an "Legal Alien", telling about her Erasmus period and we have a special Israelian guest who will be performing live songs in our studio!

News, agenda, Stranger Things Have Happened (comedy sketch) and a great music mix to round it all up!

Tune in at 18:00 via 106.6FM in the air, 105.5FM on cable or from anywhere in the world via our LiveStream!

Show: Queen's Day!

Queen's Day is coming this Friday! With the festivities already starting the night before, it promises to be yet another great event!

In tonight's show we'll be calling the president of the "Oranje vereniging" (The organisation that is in charge of all celebrations related to the royal family) who will be explaining a bit about Queen's Day and will also inform us about all the activities (concerts, etc) that take place in the city this Thursday evening and Friday.

We'll have a news update for you, as well as the upcoming agenda; Of course Queen's Day isn't the only event this week ;)

As our regular listeners know: The show will be complemented by a comedy sketch from Stranger Things Have Happened!

Tune in once again via the air waves at 106.6FM, cable at 105.5FM or from the comfort of your PC by using our LiveStream!

The World Cup is coming

With the World Cup just 50 days away, I thought I should take the time to explain why the first African World Cup will be a success.
